Net Optics 10G/1G Link Aggregator combines all the traffic from up to ten 1 Gigabit or 10 Gigabit network links or Span ports into four SFP+ monitor ports. Monitor as many as ten links or switches at one time with up to four tools. Emerging 10 Gigabit network speeds present new monitoring challenges. Can you still use your 1 Gigabit monitoring tools? How can you use new 10 Gigabit tools efficiently, when many of your 10 Gigabit links currently have low utilization? No Dropped Packets
The Link Aggregator scans incoming traffic from the network ports on a
first-in-first-out (FIFO) basis. Scan rate is optimized to ensure that no packets are dropped as long as the sum of data rates on the network ports does not exceed the monitoring port capacity of 10 Gbps. (If any of the monitor ports has a 1 Gigabit SFP module installed, the aggregated throughput is limited to 1 Gbps for all of the monitor ports, in order to ensure that all attached tools see exactly the same information.)
Data Rate Conversion
Monitor 1 Gigabit links with 10 Gigabit tools by populating the network ports with 1 Gigabit SFP modules and the monitor ports with 10 Gigabit modules. Packets will never be dropped because the aggregated traffic from all ten network ports cannot exceed the monitor port capabilities. Conversely, use 1 Gigabit tools to monitor low utilization 10 Gigabit links by plugging 1 Gigabit SFP modules into the network ports and 10 Gigabit modules into the monitor ports. Or, mix 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit modules on network and monitor ports in any combination to suit your monitoring needs.
SFP+ Flexibility
Net Optics 10G/1G Link Aggregator provides connectivity to network links, Span ports, and monitoring tools with dissimilar media interfaces. The SFP+ ports enable the Link Aggregator to be field upgraded or reconfigured with 10GigaBit SFP+ or 1 Gigabit SFP modules for increased flexibility. Populate only the ports you need to control capital expenses, or provision extra ports to ensure uptime and port availability.
Simple Configuration
Deploying the 10G/1G Link Aggregator is easy – just plug it in and it works. The speed of the SFP+ modules is detected automatically, and there are no configuration switches or jumpers.
Secure Access
The 10G/1G Link Aggregator has no IP address on the network, so it is immune to viruses or other attacks.
